Our Luxury Painting Holiday
Angkor Temples October 2019
Beautiful weather, enthusiastic Art Lovers, an ancient city to explore.
Artists Holidays really don't get any better than this.
Highlights of our Adventures
Angkor Wat Temple and many surrounding temples are an amazing holiday destination. An artist's holiday you will not forget!
Painting Holidays have been organizing Artists and Art Lovers Luxury Holidays for over 10 years to destinations in Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.
Painting Holidays offer the opportunity to indulge yourself with your art, be mentored by a professional artist, rub shoulders with other like minded artists wanting to share, learn, relax and enjoy their luxury holiday travel.
We have had some wonderful adventures and the 2018 & 2019 Luxury Holidays and Cambodia's Temples have lived up to expectations with great weather, a beautiful hotel and enthusiastic artists eager to enjoy every moment.
The Thing that sparked it all off.
For us it was when artist Craig Penny and his wife joined us in Siem Reap for 5 days to have a look around with the idea of doing some Painting Holidays based around a longer stay and the famous Angkor Temples of Cambodia.
When Craig & Andrea arrived it had been raining solidly for 5 - 7 days and the township as it was then, was under 1 metre or more of water. Tourism had stopped.
We went out touring regardless ... One of our adventures was a short cut down an alley to avoid deep water in the town centre.
As we navigated down the road our driver plunged head first into an unseen hole in the road. The 3 of us sitting in a Tuk Tuk behind him were next - just saved by the local barber and some of his customers who all jumped to our rescue from the flood waters.
2012 The year of the flood did not deter us.
"Bloody marvellous...!" was Craig's comment about the flood affected journey to the lake and the boat ride on to the Stilted Village. Just getting to the boats was an adventure in itself through the flooded villages and rice paddies.
We still love revisiting The Stilted Village on our tours and sharing the stories with our travellers and guests. It's not always flooded and we all seem to have a as much fun exploring the village area when it is dry.
